Companies tells us that the WINS framework is useful in analyzing business strategy in a GenAI world
We have been working with companies since February to understand how to react to and take advantage of GenAI technologies. We developed a framework based on the percentage of a company’s cost structure will be impacted GenAI. “WINS” stands for Word, Images, Numbers and Sounds and is a subset of the broader term knowledge work. Software engineers and mid-level lawyers have a high % of WINS work, whereas a operating surgeon has less because she creates significant value in the physical world (i.e. in surgery).
Companies with a high percentage of their cost base with “WINS” work are feeling the highest urgency to respond and re-invest processes. Investors find value in this framework as they assess the impact of GenAI on specific industries and companies.
