Gemini is Now Available in Google Email and Docs. Watch a Short Video Demo
Google brings the power of LLM to email, word processing, and presentations.
To maximize the significant productivity gains offered by GenAI, companies should integrate it into employees’ individual workflows. Thousands of software companies such as Adobe, Salesforce, Hubspot, etc. are incorporating LLM capabilities into their deployed applications as a new feature.
Below is a demo of Gemini (the Google LLM competitor to ChatGPT) integrated into Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Slides for customers of Google Workspace. The initial feature set includes basic GenAI functionalities (text-to-text in emails and documents, and text-to-image in Slides) and is available now.
Like many software vendors, Google is charging an incremental fee per user, which appears to range from $12-20. Your Google Administrator can determine which users are granted access to Gemini to manage costs effectively and to test the ROI.
Currently, Gemini for Google Workspace does not support interacting with all of your documents in Google Drive or all of your previous emails, but these capabilities and others are expected to be introduced soon.
Microsoft is implementing similar features in its Office 365 suite.
For our small company, we have implemented Gemini for Google Workspace, and we are monitoring adoption. Let me know your thoughts if you are a Google Workspace customer using or considering the use of Gemini for Google Workspace.
