Rating rationale: Good discussion about why OpenAI had to roll back a recent upgrade to an AI model because the model was flattering the user too much. In a world of basically free AI intelligence, distribution counts and Meta has tons.
OpenAI adds shopping to ChatGPT
Rating rationale: OpenAI introduced shopping inside ChatGPT, transforming it from an informational tool to a conversational commerce engine, signaling a new phase of monetization and user experience design. We continue to see the movement from Search Engines (traditional Google search => Answer Engine (LLM-based search) => Transaction Engines (complete a task or purchase). Note that OpenAI continues to innovate and ship innovative features to its Chatbot Application (ChatGPT) - further distancing it’s from open source models (where AI intelligence is becoming a commodity) - LLama3 and other open source models don’t have chatbot application.
Rating rationale: Mastercard, in partnership with Microsoft, launches Agent Pay to support autonomous agent-driven payments, marking a foundational step in enabling secure agentic commerce.
