5 Critical Elements for Successful GenAI 101 Training for Executives

Instructor-led, group learning is the only effective approach for companies serious about driving rapid GenAI adoption

After training thousands of executives and employees on GenAI, we have learned that instructor-led, group learning is the MOST effective way to establish GenAI as a new cultural norm for a company. Sending a link to a generic video or a self-paced course is a cost effective “check a box”, but it does not drive real cultural for employees using GenAI daily to drive productivity improvements and competitive advantage.

Here are five keys that we have learned for successful instructor-led, group GenAI learning:

  1. Learn by doing as a group

  2. Encourage repeated interactions with the LLM or “robots” to refine outcomes Multiple iterations are crucial—this differs from traditional software like Salesforce or SAP.

  3. Do not underestimate the power of your AI teammate or “co-intelligence”

  4. Train on confidential company information using a secure, employee-only chatbot (such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Teams, or Microsoft Copilot)

  5. CEO and executive leadership involvement is critical
